Analysis of Mid-Size Sedans Advertised During the Super Bowl

Many of the auto companies chose mid-size sedans for their game day promotion. It was a winning play for Toyota, Kia and Suzuki. Toyota featured the "re-invented" 2012 Toyota Camry, along with the re-invented curtains made out of pizza and the re-invented baby that doesn't poop, which you can watch hereAlthough these reinventions aren't realistic, the low ownership costs of the  Camry are, as seen in the ownership cost comparison below.

Although Toyota might be a top draft pick with those stats,  don't forget about the 2012 Kia Optima Sedan. It's a car that seems to find its way into a man's dream, as you see in the ad below. We used the EX 4D Sedan Turbo when analyzing ownership costs, because if you're going to race, you're going to want a turbo. The added expense of the turbo adds to ownership costs, so it isn't surprising that the Optima costs more to own per mile than the Camry.

Although MVP Eli Manning brought home a Chevrolet Corvette to his wife, in this Suzuki advertisement shown below, the husband traded in the sled for a new 2012 Kizashi Sport. We are assuming the couple will need AWD and a navigation system, so we have selected the SLS 4D Sedan for this comparison. The sled dogs are glad about this purchase, especially the seat warmers, but this sedan will cost much more than the sled to own. With higher fuel costs than the other mid-size sedans advertised, the Kizashi Sport costs 61.83 cents per mile.
