FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Vincentric Releases Certified Pre-Owned Cost of Ownership Database; Non-CPO Used Vehicles also measured
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI– April 9, 2008 – Vincentric, the premier provider of automotive cost of ownership information to the automotive industry, today announced the release of the industry’s first Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Cost of Ownership Database. In addition to measuring cost of ownership for CPO vehicles for year models 2003-2007, the company also announced the availability of cost of ownership data for non-CPO used vehicles for the same year models.
Because of differences in market price, residual values, warranties, and financing options there can be significant differences when measuring cost of ownership for Manufacturer Certified Pre-Owned vehicles vs. non-CPO used vehicles. Vincentric takes these factors into account to enable users the ability to understand the impact manufacturer certification has on the cost of owning and operating the vehicle.
“With the increasing demand for certified pre-owned vehicles, we felt it was important to supplement our new vehicle cost of ownership with the same key measurements for pre-owned vehicles as well”, stated David Wurster, President of Vincentric. “Users of our data can now compare cost of ownership for one CPO vehicle vs. another, a CPO vehicle vs. a new vehicle, or a CPO vehicle vs. a used non-CPO vehicle. The result is a better understanding of the marketplace and the value that CPO vehicles provide.”
The Vincentric cost of ownership databases can be licensed by web publishers for use on consumer web sites, by OEMS to help set market strategy including the impact of changes to CPO warranties, financing rates, and maintenance coverage, and by others in the industry to better understand this growing market.
