2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid

Now two vehicles in this plug-in hybrid segment have distinguished themselves in the fleet world - the Chevrolet Volt and the Toyota Prius, with this "green" technology resulted in low fuel costs for both vehicles. But when the results were analyzed, the Toyota Prius Hybrid Plug-in earned top honors with ownership costs that were lower than the Volt due to its low insurance and depreciation costs.  With lowest lifecycle costs in all high mileage scenarios and over short to long-term lifecycle terms, the Prius Plug-in wins its first Vincentric Best Fleet Value in America award for 2012.

Cost-of-Ownership compared to Segment Averages

The Vincentric Best Fleet Value in America award is based the vehicle's performance over multiple annual mileages (10k, 15k, 20k, 25k, and 30k)  and multiple lengths of ownership (24, 36, 48 and 60 months). The chart shown above reflects results from three years of ownership at 20,000 miles per year.
