2014 BEST FLEET VALUE IN AMERICA PRESS RELEASE

Vincentric Announces 2014 Fleet Awards; GM and Ford Top the List

BINGHAM FARMS, Michigan –  April 7th, 2014 – The 9th annual Vincentric Best Fleet Value in  America™ awards were announced earlier today, with General Motors and Ford Motor Company leading the way with eight award winning vehicles each. Toyota and Nissan also did well, with both companies bringing home five Vincentric awards, while Chrysler LLC rounded out the top of the pack with four award winners.

The strong performance by both Ford and GM was spread throughout their product line-ups, with Ford delivering a balanced slate of winners including the Focus, Taurus, F-150 Pickup, and E150 Passenger Van. General Motors' success was led by Buick, returning four winners in the premium vehicle segments while the GMC Sierra took top honors in both Heavy Duty pickup segments. Toyota continued its strength in hybrid vehicles, with two hybrid award winners, while the Tacoma once again led the compact segment, winning for the ninth consecutive year. In somewhat of a surprise, Nissan went from having only two winners in 2013 to reeling-in five awards this year, highlighted by the NV 200 making its mark as a winner of the mini-commercial van segment. Mercedes-Benz continued to deliver value, with the Sprinter riding its strong residual values and diesel fuel economy to wins in all three of its full-size van segments for the third year in a row.

"The increased competition in the fleet market is certainly evident this year," commented David Wurster, President of Vincentric. "As manufacturers increase their focus on providing vehicles that meet fleet customer needs while at the same time reducing lifecycle costs, we’re seeing that low cost-of-ownership isn’t something that only a few manufacturers can tout. We see our awards and leadership in lifecycle cost measurement as a resource that can help fleet buyers make knowledgeable decisions regarding which fleet vehicle is best aligned with their organizational goals, strategies, and budget," he added.

To determine the 2014 Vincentric Best Fleet Value in America awards, Vincentric analyzed over 3,400 vehicle configurations in 20 different lifecycle cost scenarios, using 8 cost factors including depreciation, fees and taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost, and repairs. The lifecycle costs were measured in all 50 states plus DC, with the resulting 25,000,000 lifecycle cost measurements then reviewed to determine the winning vehicles.
