Toyota, Lexus, and Chevrolet Receive Top Brand Honors in 2015 Vincentric Best Value in America Awards
BINGHAM FARMS, Michigan – March 25, 2015 – The 11th annual Vincentric Best Value in America awards were announced today, with Toyota earning the title of Best Value Passenger Vehicle Brand, Lexus receiving the Best Value Luxury Brand award, and Chevrolet showing its strength in the pickup market by claiming the Best Value Truck Brand. In addition, Vincentric announced the Best Value in America winners in each of 41 vehicle segments.
Numerous winning vehicles from Toyota, Lexus, and Scion resulted in Toyota Motor Corporation taking home twelve vehicle awards, the most of any manufacturer, with the strength of its hybrid vehicles paving the way. The diversity of the General Motors Corporation line-up was evident with award winning vehicles in the passenger car, SUV and crossover, and pickup truck categories. American Honda Motor Company, Mazda Motor Corporation, and Volkswagen Group also did well with each manufacturer earning multiple awards.
“Twenty-one different brands were recognized in the 2015 Vincentric Best Value in America awards,” stated David Wurster, President of Vincentric. “The distribution of winning vehicles across this many brands demonstrates the great importance that all manufacturers place on total cost of ownership as they develop vehicles that best meet their customers’ needs.”
Vincentric measures cost-of-ownership using eight different cost factors: depreciation, fees & taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost, and repairs. Using a statistical model, the company identified the Vincentric Best Value in America winners by measuring which vehicles had lower than expected ownership costs given their market segment and price. Each vehicle was evaluated in all 50 states plus DC using a range of annual mileage intervals and insurance profiles.
