BINGHAM FARMS, Michigan – August 5th, 2014  – The second annual Vincentric Best Certified Pre-Owned Value in America™ awards were announced today, with Ford and Toyota topping the list with brands from each manufacturer earning seven Vincentric CPO awards. Honda earned the title of best CPO value passenger car brand, while Buick took home the best CPO value luxury brand award and Chevrolet claimed best CPO value truck brand.

The strong CPO performance by both Ford and Toyota was spread throughout their product line-ups, with Ford delivering three award winning vans along with luxury brand Lincoln earning two CPO awards. Toyota’s success was led by its passenger cars along with one Scion and two Lexus award winners. Honda claimed the title of best CPO value passenger car brand with a balanced lineup including the Insight, CR-Z, Civic Hybrid, and Accord. The foundation of Buick’s CPO luxury brand award was the Verano, Lacrosse, and Enclave while Chevrolet used the strength of its Silverado trucks to take home the CPO truck brand award. Also performing well in the annual Vincentric CPO analysis were General Motors and Honda with six awards, and Nissan with five awards.

“The Vincentric Best CPO Value in America awards highlight the commitment of manufacturers to offer high quality used vehicles. Backed by extended warranties, these certified pre-owned vehicles provide great value to buyers,” stated David Wurster, President of Vincentric. ”In our CPO awards this year there were 20 different brands with winning vehicles. These results show that when manufacturers actively measure and manage total cost of ownership, value is provided to consumers throughout the lifecycle of the vehicle,” he added.

The Vincentric Best CPO Value in America awards are vehicle specific honors that determine the best value certified pre-owned model in each segment. Using a statistical analysis, the company identified the Vincentric Best CPO Value in America winners by measuring which vehicles had lower than expected ownership costs given their market segment and price. To determine the 2014 Vincentric Best CPO Value in America awards, Vincentric analyzed over 13,000 vehicle configurations, using eight cost factors including depreciation, fees and taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost, and repairs. Each CPO vehicle was evaluated in all 50 states plus DC assuming each has been driven 15,000 miles per year, with the expectation that they will be driven an additional 15,000 miles per year over the coming five years.
